So this is the last book in the Eve trilogy and words can’t describe how much I disliked the final book in this series. Basically this whole review is going to be me ranting and will most likely include spoilers so if you actually want to read this series I suggest you don’t go on!!

The characters…..oh the character…Eve just made me so damn angry. Basically anytime she did something I would just think really? Why did she have or need to do this. Then we learn that she is pregnant.

Seriously?! I don’t have a problem with that but really this book did not need to have that added to this. Just her character didn’t turn out how I hoped she would and there was just something about her that kept me from really ever liking her.

The story line was okay until the pregnancy surprise and then I really could not stand it anymore, I had put up with a lot in this series and it really was the last straw. There was a lot that kept me from actually even liking this series and this book just cemented my opinion of it, actually it probably lowered my thoughts on it. This trilogy when I finished it just made me sad overall because I was really disappointed in it and when this happens I feel bad. Even though I wouldn’t recommend this, I feel like you should go and form your own opinions about it.

(here’s a gif that I hope will make up for the depressing review)

Song of the Week 27

IT’S SONG OF THE WEEK WEEK 27!! -cue music and flail about- Well…now that that’s over we can get to the music. I usually am not a big fan of rap music, but there is something about Iggy Azalea that intrigues me and this is a little bit of one of her worse songs that I’ve heard but I can’t get the chorus out of my head after I hear it. So I give you Work by Iggy Azalea!

I hope you enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

The Grisha Trilogy

Goodreads Shadow and Bone Description:

The Shadow Fold, a swathe of impenetrable darkness, crawling with monsters that feast on human flesh, is slowly destroying the once-great nation of Ravka.

Alina, a pale, lonely orphan, discovers a unique power that thrusts her into the lavish world of the kingdom’s magical elite—the Grisha. Could she be the key to unravelling the dark fabric of the Shadow Fold and setting Ravka free?

The Darkling, a creature of seductive charm and terrifying power, leader of the Grisha. If Alina is to fulfill her destiny, she must discover how to unlock her gift and face up to her dangerous attraction to him.

But what of Mal, Alina’s childhood best friend? As Alina contemplates her dazzling new future, why can’t she ever quite forget him?

Glorious. Epic. Irresistible. Romance

What to say about this trilogy….it was pretty good…this is another one of the series that seemed to be just missing something to make me love it…I also have not clue what that thing could be.

I have to say that the Darkling was by all my favorite character. I know you are thinking ‘oh he killed a lot of people why would you like him?’ I mean I know he killed a lot…but I can easily look past that…….

Well anyways, I feel that he was the most real character in the books, he was straightforward he went after what he wanted and I actually found his emotions the most realistic. I also didn’t get annoyed with him like I did some of the other characters. Alina, well let’s just keep this simple and say at times I liked her but more times I really just got fed up with her character. Mal was a pretty good character, but I felt he and Alina kind of clung to each other at times in an unhealthy was, but he was definitely more emotionally stable than Alina and his emotions were more genuine.

The story line was pretty amazing but the characters at times made the execution a little iffy. Otherwise I really like how she set things up and made most of the scenes flow really well.

So flock off my children and go read and make decisions and stuff.

The Serena Legacy

Goodreads Of Poseidon Description:

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he’s heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma’s gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom…

Told from both Emma and Galen’s points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

This is actually the first series that is all about mermaids that I have read, also maybe the first one that really mentions them…I have no clue where they’ve been all my life. Well I really ended up liking this series more than I thought, other than the weird way that book 2 ended making it seem like that should have been where the series ended but I’m not complaining. So let’s do this!

Well of course I fell in love with Galen right away, I seem to have a soft spot for those broody type of guys in books. I also was pretty impressed with how loyal he was to his family, that is always I feel a good quality in guys, well people in general. Now Emma was eh, she wasn’t one of my favorite leading book ladies which made me sad because this was a good series I just felt that she needed to have a few things changed about her character to make her a bit more relatable and more likable. I also really dug Toraf’s character, he was pretty great, he had that really natural humor that just makes you instantly like him.

The story line was good, but it didn’t flow as seamlessly together as it could have been. I feel this is what could have used the most improvement out of the series, just because there were a lot of parts that just kind of blahed a bit and could have had some more action or something.

Well, go try this trilogy out and taste…I mean experience or whatever you feel like doing and see for yourself.

Shatter Me Trilogy

Goodreads Shatter Me Description:

I have a curse
I have a gift

I am a monster
I’m more than human

My touch is lethal
My touch is power

I am their weapon
I will fight back

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

I have to say when just reading the blurb for this book I was never really impressed, but the writing style of these books is just so different and unique and I really enjoyed it.

I’m just going to get right to the characters because I don’t have really anything else to add to that, I know I’m sorry it’s a horrible life. So let’s start with Juliette, well the first two books there was something about her that just made me want to slap some sense into her because she acted like the a turtle….that’s all I could think at this time to compare her to..she would just curl up in her shell and just be scared of the world and she needed other people to protect her. I was happy in the third book, I think it was the third book, she finally grew some lady balls, and started making actual decisions for herself…that’s when I respected her. Don’t get me wrong, she’s been to hell and back so she can act how she wants to but I feel like that should have made her stronger a little more quickly, but that’s just my take. Now Adam was such a knight in shinning armor in parts and that’s I think what kind of drew me to him in the first place because what lady doesn’t secretly want someone to come and save her at one point.

During the first book and half of the second one he was good but after that damn….he became such an asshat, I know he was going through a lot too but dude, calm yourself. I mean he had his really sweet side that got to me but I really started to dislike him in the end. Now onto Warner…just so many mixed feelings about him but in the end he…..he’s just a sweet tortured soul, and I love him for it in the end when we actually learn more about him and understand him. I just wanted to hug him during the last half or the second book and then in the last book….I’ll comfort you!

Warner definitely ended up being my favorite character in this trilogy because seeing him grow emotionally and finally seeing him trust someone and everything else was just incredible. Kenji…all I have say about you is that you are an awesome human being and I want to be your friend. I’m not usually a huger but something about guys being vulnerable in books brings that out in me.

The story line of the book was pretty impressive but I felt a few things could have been improved or taken out. Some of the things just didn’t click with the rest of the story or just kind of made it lull a bit in parts and overall I just felt like there was something missing from the story that could have taken it to the next level. Otherwise I was really impressed, I love the writing style it was very unique and all the characters were pretty awesomely written.

I definitely recommend this series and I’m now kind of wanting to go back and reread it…so I probably will….I will go now.

Goodreads Description:

Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.

Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.

Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn’t know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.

For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

Well, this was another book I wasn’t sure about when I bought it and I still wasn’t sure what I was expecting when it ended. I have to say though that this book made me kind of angry in parts and I was really hoping it would have gone in a different direction for the coupling.

So I’m going to warn you that this is probably going to be a pretty short review because of the fact that I don’t want to rant and I just was sadly not impressed….but I did love the  cover and could pet it all day. The characters were okay…I liked Heather because she would pretty much say F#($ the world at parts and just go with what she felt and her friend just pissed the hell out of me. God, that girl thought she was the greatest thing and people like that make me want to slap them upside the head.

I really liked Dodge because he was a lot like Heather and I was rooting for those two to get together so hard….I shipped them….and that was SOILED! (kind of sorta a spoiler). Everyone else in the book made me just angry when I tried to go back and think about it this is probably about as good as it gets.

The story line was a good but was not greatly executed in my opinion. So there’s that, and I also just haven’t been a lover of the other Lauren Oliver books that I read so that might be a signal. Well go and try this book out for yourself and see what you think.

Song of the Week 25

It’s already Song of the Week 25! Can you believe it?! Yes….oh okay…well then. So I have basically been loping around this week doing pretty much nothing….which explains why I haven’t gotten any reviews up. I did read a few new books while taking a break from the massive book rereadathon that I have been on…so there was that, but I’m getting ready to write some reviews after this so don’t worry! Well anyway this week I’m just going to basically get right to the point and give you a song that popped back into my head this morning and won’t leave..I give you -drum roll- Summertime Sadness the mix by Lana Del Ray!
