This book was the last book in the Witches of East End series and I was actually quite disappointed in this book. It just didn’t captivate me quite like the first one and it went downhill after that. I really don’t have much to say about this book so this will most likely be a very short review.

I really liked all of the characters in this book and they way they were written but it just didn’t end up connecting with the plot that it started taking. i wasn’t really drawn in to it and just didn’t pull me in like I had hoped. I will always love the characters I just really wish she would have taken a different path with how the story panned out because it could have been such a great series.

Well this review got really depressing and so I’m going to finish on that note. Just go give the series a feel to see if it’s the one for you.

This is the sixth book in the Bloodlines series which is a spin off series of the Vampire Academy series also by Richelle Mead. So far I’ve really like this series but there was just something about this one that didn’t do it for me. The end of the book got better so I hope this means the next one is better.

Oh Adrian..you are without a doubt my favorite person in this series, your wit, your sarcasm, your romantic inclinations…you are amazing. He is such a dreamboat. He is also so damn loyal to Sydney and would do anything for her that it makes me swoon.

tangledsigh

Now Sydney in this book wasn’t my favorite…at time I would just go really? Did she seriously just do that? She made me just a wee bit angry.

tumblr_m7f65dSbsv1rziwwco1_500

The story line in this book was average but there were more parts than I wanted that I feel didn’t necessarily have to be added and there were many parts that were just plain dull.

I would definitely suggest going and reading the rest of the series and I hope that the next one gets better.

Ugly Love

Ugly Love Goodreads Description:

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

This book just blew me away as all of Colleen Hoover’s book usually do, but this one really just hit me hard. She is one of those writers that makes you feel what she is writing and it is always an amazing experience. The way she writes the characters also makes them feel so realistic and connected to them it’s just so impressive.

739833

The two main characters in this book are Tate and Miles. Tate is a a nurse and Miles is a pilot, they pretty much instantly connect but neither of them are really wanting or in a place to start a relationship so of course they think the best way to deal with this is to become friends with benefits. You know right away that this is going to be a horrible idea and almost always ends badly.

SwZFJhm

When we first meet Miles you immediately realize there is something that haunts him and this definitely plays into why he doesn’t want a relationship. Miles though is a nice guy and he can be sweet and protective and he’s just all around good. Tate is a nurse and you know that she and Miles would make a beautiful and basically perfect couple if they could get around their problems.

So the story line of this book was just so incredible and there was just so much emotion and just never a part that made you want to go take a nap. I really could not put this book down and finished it right when it came out on my Nook. I might have had something early going on the next day but I finished this and I do not regret it one bit. I am going to go reread this book tonight because review it is making me want to relive it.

This book is just so amazing as are all Colleen Hoover books and now I want to go buy the rest of her books I don’t have, which is a lot, and read them all. I suggest you do the same.

This is the last book in the Lux series and when I finished reading it I went into a Daemon depression for a while…I’m really going to miss him. When I was reading this a whole fourth of the book was a short story and I didn’t realize that until the cook felt like it was ending and it did….it was probably the most horrific thing I have ever experienced. It wasn’t a fun feeling.

So of course we have our same characters Daemon who is still one sarcastic and romantic and sweet sexy beast. He is easily my favorite person in this book series. He is pretty much all the things you want in a guy wrapped in one…it’s beautiful.

I also really liked Kat. She didn’t back down in a challenge and was tough enough to handle things and didn’t have the whiny girl problem going on that seems to happen a lot with female characters in YA books. Archer and Luc were also two of my favorite guys, they were some classy people yo. They were slow chicken dancing type of classy….and they were also ridiculously funny.

groovy-kind-of-chicken-dance

I now feel that this review is going to have more gifs than review…which somehow doesn’t seem to bother me as much as it normally would for a review. ALL THE GIFS!! The story line in this book was just awesome, there wasn’t a dull moment that made me sit there and space out while reading it and there was so much action. I love me a well written fight scene and there were many.

tumblr_mtznswMceM1shatvfo3_400

This is a series ending that I felt concluded everything well and made me extremely happy. No major cliffhangers, questions not answered, flock of seagulls…you know.

I highly recommend this series and basically any other books out there by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Go read them and enjoy!

This Strange and Familiar Place

So this is the second book in the So Close to You series and I am sad to say that this wasn’t as good as the first one. I really enjoyed the first one but this just didn’t do it for me…let me go cry in a corner for a bit.

Troy - Crying

It has been a little while since I’ve read it but I just can’t remember a lot of it because it just didn’t seem that memorable for me. I did a review for the first book a while back and this book made me not a big fan of Lydia. In the first one I was cool with her, she was pretty chill, but there was something about this one that made her grind on my nerves a bit. Wes, I still really like him even at some points when he would make a few ridiculous decisions, but I mainly wanted to hug him the rest of the time.

tumblr_ncsfmvSGu71ta8wqho10_250

The story line for this book was pretty bland. It just didn’t pull me in as much as the first one and took me a while to read it all the way through.  Now that I’ve had time to process it a bit I just get a bit depressed when thinking about it.

This review is getting really sad so I’d say just go feel out the series and read it to see what you think.

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea & Between the Spark and the Burn

Standard

1293090918667954

Goodreads Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea Description:

You stop fearing the devil when you’re holding his hand…

Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White’s sleepy, seaside town… until River West comes along. River rents the guest house behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard.

Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more?

Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery… who makes you want to kiss back.

Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it.

Blending faded decadence and the thrilling dread of gothic horror, April Genevieve Tucholke weaves a dreamy, twisting contemporary romance, as gorgeously told as it is terrifying—a debut to watch.

This series so far is one of my favorite that I’ve had the pleasure to read. The way they are written is just so unique and amazing and just so one of a kind. I now feel like I need to go reread them…..I will contemplate this while I finish this review.

uvoQMJN

So the characters…without a doubt River is the most delightful and tastefully insane person and I love him for it. He can be sweet and crazy and austere and so many other things that just make him so amazing. He just drills a hole into your heart and even when he doesn’t know what he’s doing all the time you can’t blame him. Then there’s Neely, River’s brother, keeper, and the one that helps him stay sane. Neely is the stable one and is always the protector, and will do anything to keep his brother and Violet safe. Violet….she has such an older sense of world, the way she acts and dresses just makes it seem like she’s in her own little world set back in time. She has such a cool laid back personality that made me really like her, and she wouldn’t take shit from anyone.

RBuUm7X

The story line was just incredible, there weren’t a lot of moments that just had me going really? Did that need to be added? The rhythm of the novels flowed smoothly and just coming up the the Spark powers was such a cool idea. Some have to touch another person, some need another’s blood, and some don’t have to touch someone for their power to affect them, while in just that one bloodline. Just genius.

X7P2CHm

I want you to experience everything as a first in this series so I’m just going to tell you to go read these two now and enjoy the crazy.
